North Bay Road spec home fetches $20.5 million

A mansion built on spec at 2068 North Bay Road in Miami Beach sold for $20.5 million Tuesday.
The 12,500-square-foot house overlooks Sunset Lake and has an organic contemporary design that incorporates Burmese teak in its exterior.The lot spans more than 28,000 square feet.The North Bay Road area — abuzz with construction of contemporary-style mansions — has been particularly hot.
The seller was 2068NBR LLC, which is a partnership managed by Miami land baron Sergio Rok and including builder Barry Brodsky, president of Brodson Construction, and Nelson Gonzalez, a luxury broker with EWM Realtors.
The buyer listed the home in a limited liability corporation, 2068 North Bay LLC, and wasn’t identified.The 7-bedroom house has high ceilings, walls of impact glass, a cabana with summer kitchen, an elevator, a library, a roof-top terrace, a pool and spa, seven full bathrooms and two half baths, and a three-car garage.
Gonzalez, who represented both seller and buyer, said the partners acquired the site for $4 million in September 2011.
